We are a duo of motion directors and the founders of PLOY, a design-driven production company that specializes in animation, motion design and visual effects.
Our aim is to find unique and cutting-edge approaches to visual narratives.
Due to his passion for drawing and sketching, Simon chose to study Art Education at Bern University of the Arts and Art History at the University of Bern. During his studies he became fascinated with animation and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Short Motion Design from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2010.
Simon worked as a Senior Motion Designer at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) for five years until 2016. As a leading artist and director, together with his colleagues in the On-Air-Design-Team, he was responsible for the visual design of SRF. They developed and created show and station designs, opening sequences, campaigns, image films and other animated design elements.
In 2016 he founded Ploy with his longtime co-worker Jürg.
Jürg has been interested in design, animation and film for as long as he can remember. While studying graphic design as part of the Graphic Arts curriculum in Biel he discovered his passion for 3D animation, which continues to inspire him to this day.
Following a stint in Munich, he worked for many years as a Senior Designer for Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) where he was in charge of many award-winning projects as a principle designer and director.
In 2014 he went freelance and in 2016 he founded Ploy together with Simon.
